The 360 combines a belt-driven V8 with either a manual or F1 automated-manual transmission. Its age, fluid history and cooling-system condition matter as much as the odometer.
360 Modena / Spider
An internal heat-exchanger leak can mix coolant and transmission oil. [1]
Investigate contaminated fluid or unexplained coolant loss before further use. Identifying contamination early is more useful than waiting for a gear-selection complaint.
360 F1-equipped cars
Specialist repair work documents faults in F1 hydraulic pumps and actuators. [2]
Record missed gears, a flashing gear display or frequent pump operation. Assess pressure retention and clutch condition together; manual cars have different controls.
360 wishbone joints
Wear and corrosion of the original joints can produce suspension knocks. [3]
Confirm which joint has play and inspect its boot. Combine any repair with a geometry check rather than masking the noise with unrelated suspension parts.
360 V8
Check dated invoices for the belt service and associated tensioner inspection against the current schedule for the VIN. Low mileage does not establish the age or condition of a belt.
