Advanced heat rejection. UV protection. Enhanced privacy. Professionally installed by specialists who understand the precision your vehicle demands.
The Science
Why Window Tint?
Automotive window film does far more than darken glass. Modern performance films are engineered to reject infrared heat, block 99% of harmful UV radiation, and reduce interior glare—all while maintaining optical clarity for safe driving.
At Foreign Automotive, we exclusively install LLumar window films. From their entry-level dyed films to their flagship ceramic IRX series, every product in the LLumar range is backed by a manufacturer warranty and installed to the highest standard in our controlled facility.
LLumar Film Options
Multiple performance tiers to match your requirements and budget. All films include professional installation and manufacturer warranty.
○
Dyed Film
LLumar’s classic dyed window film delivers a sleek, dark appearance with solid UV rejection and glare reduction. An excellent entry point for privacy and style at a competitive price.
◉
Carbon Film
Advanced carbon-particle construction provides superior heat rejection without the signal interference of metallic films. Colour-stable technology ensures the film won’t fade or turn purple over time.
◎
Ceramic IRX
LLumar’s flagship ceramic film. Nano-ceramic particle technology delivers the highest infrared heat rejection in the lineup—up to 98% IR rejection—while maintaining crystal-clear visibility. No signal interference. Maximum performance.

Why Tint Your Vehicle
Technical advantages that go beyond aesthetics.
Interior Protection
UV radiation degrades leather, Alcantara, and dashboard surfaces over time. Window film blocks 99% of UVA and UVB rays, dramatically slowing interior ageing and preserving the cabin condition that European vehicles are known for.
Heat Reduction
Ceramic films reject up to 98% of infrared energy, keeping cabin temperatures significantly cooler in summer. This reduces demand on your climate system and improves fuel efficiency—particularly important for high-performance engines.
Glare Control
Reduced windshield and side glass glare improves visibility and reduces eye fatigue on long drives. Quality film maintains natural colour perception while cutting harsh light transmission.
Privacy & Security
Darkened rear glass deters break-ins by concealing interior contents. In the event of glass breakage, window film holds shattered glass in place—adding a layer of safety for occupants.
Our Installation Process
Clean. Controlled. No dust, no bubbles, no shortcuts.
Glass Prep
Every window is meticulously cleaned, decontaminated, and inspected. Gasket edges and seals are cleaned to prevent debris from being trapped under the film.
Precision Cut
Film is cut from a digital pattern library specific to your vehicle’s make, model, and year. Computer-plotted templates ensure millimetre-accurate fitment.
Heat Forming
Rear glass with compound curvature is heat-shrunk to match the exact contour of the window—eliminating fingers, creases, and distortion that plague inferior installations.
Application
Film is wet-applied using slip solution, then squeegeed to remove all moisture and air. Edges are tucked beneath gaskets where possible for a seamless, factory-like appearance.
Inspection
Every window is inspected under controlled lighting for bubbles, debris, or alignment issues. The vehicle is not released until every panel meets our standard.
Ontario Regulations
Window Tint & The Law
In Ontario, the Highway Traffic Act requires that the front windshield and front driver/passenger windows allow a minimum of 70% visible light transmission (VLT). There are no VLT restrictions on rear passenger or rear windshield glass.
We help you select the appropriate shade for each window position so your vehicle is both compliant and protected. Our team will walk you through the available VLT options and recommend the optimal configuration for your needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about automotive window film.
Will window tint interfere with my electronics?
No. LLumar ceramic and carbon films are non-metallic, so they do not interfere with GPS, cellular, Bluetooth, satellite radio, or toll transponder signals. Metallic-based films from other brands can cause these issues.
How dark can I go on my windows?
Ontario requires 70% VLT minimum on the windshield and front side windows. Rear side windows and rear windshield have no legal restriction, so you can go as dark as you prefer—including limo-dark (5% VLT) for maximum privacy.
How long does installation take?
Most vehicles take 2–4 hours depending on the number of windows and glass complexity. We recommend leaving the vehicle for the day to allow adequate drying time in our controlled environment before driving.
Can window film be removed later?
Yes. Professional-grade LLumar film is designed to be removable. Our team uses heat and steamer techniques to remove film cleanly without damaging window defrosters or glass. We can also re-tint with a different shade if your preferences change.
What warranty is included?
LLumar window films carry a manufacturer warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination, and colour change. Coverage varies by product tier—from limited to lifetime. As an authorized dealer, we handle all warranty claims directly.
