BMW ECU tuning. Recalibrated.
ECC ECU tuning in Kitchener.
Explore ECC software for your BMW, from selected M Performance models to M cars. Start with your vehicle details and performance goals. We’ll confirm the software options, installation requirements and price for your exact setup.
Looking for a B58 tune for your M340i, or S58 tuning for a G80 M3, G82 M4 or G87 M2? Start with the exact engine and ECU. Your BMW’s engine computer is also called the DME, and its hardware and software version determine the unlock requirements.
Foreign Automotive offers in-house ECU unlocking for supported vehicles and can arrange specialist mail-in unlocks where required. We’ll identify your ECU, confirm compatibility with the selected ECC software, and explain the process, price and expected timing before you book.

Before you book
Your tuning questions.
Can you tune my car if it is not listed online?
Possibly. Our online store shows a selection of ECC software, not every available tune. Send your year, model, engine and current modifications. We’ll confirm availability with ECC for your specific vehicle.
Does My BMW Need An ECU Or DME Unlock?
An ECU or DME unlock enables access for compatible tuning software; it is separate from the ECC calibration itself. Bosch MG1 controllers are part of the wider MDG1 family. Depending on the exact hardware and software, your BMW may need an in-house bench unlock or a specialist mail-in unlock. We’ll identify the DME and confirm the appropriate route.
Do All Post-2020 BMWs Need A FEMTO Unlock?
No. Some newer BMW ECUs have an in-house bench-unlock option, including supported MG1CS024, MG1CS049 and MG1CS201 DME8 units. Other controllers require a specialist mail-in process. The exact ECU and chosen software determine the route; the model year alone does not.
Which BMW ECU Codes Matter For Newer Platforms?
Useful identifiers include Bosch MG1CS003, MG1CS024, MG1CS049 and MG1CS201. Newer S68 V8 applications use MG1CS221 (DME9), while certain latest-production S58 M2/M3/M4 applications use ECS1049. These are identification clues, not a blanket list of ECC tunes we can supply. We’ll check the specific controller and software before confirming availability.
Is B58 Gen 3 Covered By The Same MG1 Unlock?
Do not assume so. Newer B58 Gen 3 applications can use a Vitesco DME9 rather than the Bosch MG1 controllers covered by other B58 unlock listings. A Bosch MG1 unlock does not establish support for that controller. Send the model, production details and ECU identification so we can check current options with ECC.
Will My ECU Need A Mail-In Unlock?
Mail-in unlocking may be required for controllers such as MG1CS003, MG1CS221 in S68 applications, or ECS1049 in certain latest-production S58 cars. We’ll confirm the exact ECU, arrange the applicable service and explain removal, shipping and installation timing before you commit. Availability is specific to the controller and chosen calibration.
How much will my tune cost?
Request a vehicle-specific quote. We’ll confirm the software price and identify any installation, unlock or supporting work required. A software product listing is not an all-inclusive installed quote.
What gains can I expect?
Results depend on the exact vehicle, software, fuel, hardware and condition. We’ll discuss the appropriate calibration and any available supporting figures for your setup. We do not promise one power figure for every vehicle.
What about warranty and intended use?
ECC describes its ECU software as intended for off-road use and sold without warranty. Ask us to confirm the applicable terms for your selected software before purchase. Do not assume that factory warranty coverage or road-use approval is preserved. Read ECC’s published tuning terms.
