How to compare winter tire and wheel package quotes
The cheapest headline price is only useful if both quotes buy the same thing. Before choosing a winter tire and wheel package, compare the exact products, included work and final payable total. A tire-only price and a complete installed package are different purchases.
Start with the exact tires
Check the brand, model, front and rear sizes, load and speed ratings, and any specified manufacturer marking or run-flat construction. A quote for a different tire model is not the same offer, even if both tires come from the same brand.
Ask whether the price covers four tires and whether the quoted products are currently in stock. Make sure a substituted tire has been explained and agreed before you treat the quotes as comparable.
Match the wheel specifications
Confirm wheel brand, design, diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern and finish. The wheel must also be suitable for the vehicle’s brakes and load requirements. A photo of a similar-looking wheel does not establish an identical product.
If your car has different front and rear sizes, the quote should identify both. Mention optional or aftermarket brakes before ordering, so the package is checked against the equipment on your actual car.
Check each included service and extra
Compare mounting, balancing and installation as separate inclusions. Then check required wheel hardware and whether tire-pressure sensors are supplied, fitted and configured as applicable. Ask about mandatory charges and tax so the total is clear.
Foreign Automotive’s listed package price includes four tires, four wheels, mounting, balancing and installation. Hardware adds $75 per package where required; optional TPMS adds $340 per package. These prices are in CAD before tax. Storage or a wheel upgrade needs a separate confirmed quote.
